Hyundai i20 facelift from a dealer yard

"LandepNews"
Is this what you’d call a bolt out of the blue? Hardly a day has passed since we showed you images of the Hyundai i20 facelift from a dealer yard and here comes Hyundai with the prices and details of the i20 facelift, dubbed i-Gen Hyundai i20. Hyundai sent out an email containing details and studio shots of the car.

A Hyundai spokesman told Indian Autos Blog there was no specific reason for not conducting a press conference or a launch ceremony. He said vehicles have been dispatched to dealers across the country.
The i-Gen i20 is served up in 12 variants with prices of the petrol variants ranging from Rs 473,400 to Rs 665,894, and the diesel variants ranging from Rs 596,334 to Rs 744,013. The automatic variant is priced at Rs 767,405.

As we pointed out yesterday, plenty of feature additions are available on the new i20 such as rear Parking Camera with display on the cabin mirror, Electro Chromic Mirror that offers anti-glare vision during night time driving, Clean Air-Cluster ionizer for fresh air in the cabin, Auto Headlight Control Function, 6 Airbags, Rear Disc Brakes and Rain Sensing Wipers. A clutch lock system that prevents accidental starts, speed-sensing door locks and rear parking sensors are also available.

technical specifications of the Pajero Sport

"LandepNews"
Tomorrow, the 12th of March, a very rare phenomenon will grace the Indian petrolheads. Mitsubishi is all set to launch a new product in the Indian market. After much delay (3-4 years, I think), the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will finally be launched in the Indian market. We have already discussed about the technical specifications of the Pajero Sport that will reach Indian shores.

However, thanks to our reader Krishnakant, IAB brings you a massive gallery of the Pajero Sport spyshots snapped from every angle possible.

We all know what the Pajero Sport looks like because it has been in the international markets for donkeys years now. Interesting fact is that the Pajero Sport is not the actual successor to the Pajero that we see on Indian roads. The Pajero SFX was succeeded by the Mitsubishi Montero. The Pajero Sport is actually a luxury SUV based on the Triton platform.

The spyshots also reveal the interiors of the Pajero Sport as well. The Pajero Sport carries dual tone black-beige interiors with some silver garnish. The steering is equipped with steering mounted controls. A small display above the music player helps you play around with the all wheeled drive system.

The Pajero Sport is a through off roader with a proper low ratio gearbox. At the same time, it’s a big softy as well with its leather seats and individual AC vents for each row. Product wise, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a worthy challenger to the Toyota Fortuner. Whether it can actually make a dent in Fortuner’s sales will be decided by price which will be announced tomorrow. Sources have told Indian Autos Blog that a 24.4 lakh rupee price is likely though a last minute change can never be ruled out.

Sony’s latest portable gaming

"LandepNews"
Sony PS Vita
Sony’s latest portable gaming console first launched in Japan on December 17th, the PS Vita, has received pretty much fantastic reviews across the board on mutliple technology blog’s over the last few months, however whilst in its first week of sale in Japan it did very well, since then it has had literally next to no market demand at all. In total, the second week of sales for the PS Vita totted up a sad sounding 72,479 units, which is even less than Sony’s PSP gaming console which shipped 101,121 units.
It makes large sense to us then that sellers/retailers of the portable gaming console in Japan have been forced to slash their prices of the PS Vita, in a move clearly aimed at giving the kiss of the life to Sony’s latest product.
Of course, all products need to be priced perfectly in the market they are moving in to, so we shall have to see exactly how Sony prices the PS Vita when it is officially launched in the UK on February 22nd this year. Hopefully, they won’t price themselves out of the market straight away, but if you want our two cents we reckon’ the UK sales for the PS Vita will follow that of Japans.

2012 Honda CR-V Image Gallery

"LandepNews"
Being a Japanese company, the first market on the roster for a global Honda model can’t be Korea or Australia, right? Honda announced the 2012 CR-V for the Japanese market today that would go on sale on the 2nd of December. This is about two weeks ahead of the US market release. The Honda CR-V is among the largest selling Sports Utility Vehicles in USA.

The 2012 CR-V was on view at the Los Angeles Motor Show this month and for the Japanese market, Honda offers the five-seat crossover in two variants – 20G and 24G. The base model is FWD with a 2.0-liter petrol engine producing 150HP/191Nm paired to a CVT. The second model is a 2.4-liter AWD variant with 190HP/222Nm married to a five-speed AT.

With a target of selling 18k units in Japan, Honda has priced the base model at 16.6 lakh rupees and the AWD model at 18.4 lakh rupees. Honda SIEL told IndianAutosBlog.com earlier this year that the new CR-V is not going to be shown at the 2012 Auto Expo.
We’re expecting Honda to launch the new CR-V next year in India but the Achilles’ heel of this Japanese Samurai is the missing diesel engine.
