If quarterly sales are one measurement of short term success then Apple appear to have it sussed this year, because during July 2011 (that’s one month ago time travelers) the sales of Macs surged by 26 per cent when compared to the same month last year. Although a few factors may be causing this stats revealed by data types NPD suggest that OS X Lion, which was released on the 20th of July, was a key factor in the massive sales boost for Mac’s within the US.
Another reason for the large increase in Mac orders when compared to last year could be the recent refresh of Macbook Air’s and Macbook Mini’s, where the Air’s received very respectable upgrades indeed.
