The colonial town of Parati is one of our favourite towns in Brazil

"LandepNews"

The colonial town of Parati is one of our favourite towns in Brazil: full of history and stunningly preserved, with uneven cobbled streets, colourfully painted houses, pretty churches and a rich artistic vibe. Casa Turquesa is a charming two-storey 18th century historic house located in the colonial centre of Paraty, half way in between Rio and Sao Paolo. Casa Turquesa, opened in May 2008, expresses owner Tete Etrusco’s eye for detail in its architecture, decorations and service.

Completely in keeping with the historical tradition of the town and the town house which has been converted to a spacious 9 room light and airy contemporary guest house with beautiful design touches, terrific attention to detail and immaculate workmanship. The green Deluxe Suite is the smallest but has a unique atmosphere with pretty small old leather chairs and a naive painting of the artist of the Sono Beach. The Junior Suites have a spacious bathroom and a dressing room. The bathrooms in the Master Suites have a bubble-bath. The white Master Suite is very romantic and has a terrace.

Facilities: All of them have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, LCD televisions, a safe, mini-bar, telephone and computer plugs. The beds are very comfortable, made-up with 300-thread Egyptian cotton sheets, and mosquito netting made by craftsmen from the south of Bahia. Exclusive decor according to the colour of the room. Each room has postcard views: the bay of Paraty, the tiled roofs of the historic centre of the town, the mountains, and the dome of Santa Rita Church.

A cosy lounge area and bar leads to an internal courtyard, garden and swimming pool with Jacuzzi – very relaxing after exploring the town, the bay’s islands or the surrounding rainforest.
A wealth of activities are available to guests including fishing, hiking, scuba diving, snorkelling, boat trips to nearby islands and cultural visits to the colonial town of Paraty.
