Pirates edge Brewers for second straight
Pittsburgh Pirates have captured a hard earned win against leaders Brewers when they defeated Milwaukee 9-8 on Monday at the Miller Park.
Presley opened the game with a 394 foot homerun, but Pirates were leveled immediately through Hart who scored the first point for Brewers after Kotsay doubled to right. Pittsburgh then scored three more points in what seemed to be a crucial run for the visitors. Alvarez singled to center and Jones made it 2-1 with Jaramillo getting to third.
The same Jarmillo made it 3-1 after D’Arnaud grounded into fielder’s choice to second. D’Arnaud closed the early rally with a fourth point scored after Presley’s singling. The third inning went scoreless for both sides, while the fourth one brought the hosts a couple of more points through Hairston Jr. and Betancourt.
Pittsburgh broke back in the fifth round when Alvarez doubled to left and Paul and Lee came up with a precious double which propelled the visitors three games atop of their opponents. Jones made it 7-3 with Alvarez getting to third on De La Cruz’s wild pitch. Betancourt the doubled to center allowing Weeks and Hairston Jr. to cut the deficit to two points in the same fifth term.

Finally, Presley doubled to center, allowing McKenry to score the winner for Pirates when it counted the most. Pittsburgh are fourth in the Central with a .450 record including 72 wins and 88 defeats. The victory over Brewers was their fourth in the past ten games and 36th on the road.
Milwaukee remain top spot with a .588 percentage featuring 94 wins and 66 defeats, the defeat to Pirates being their third in the past ten games and 24th at home.
Said Presley after the meeting: “It was an exciting game. It was back and forth. The crowd was in it. It was good atmosphere. They’re playing for something. It was awesome to battle out with them for nine innings.”
Los Angeles Angels 3 – 4 Texas Rangers
Texas have extended their winning streak to four successes when they edged their main followers Angels yesterday at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Texas were given the first lead earl yin the opening term by Kinsler who scored after Andrus reached on bunt single to catcher.

Texas have improved their season record to .588 which features 94 wins and 66 losses. The victory over LA was also their eighth in the past ten games and 52nd at home. On the other side, Angels have dropped to a .5389 percentage including 86 wins and 74 defeats. The loss to the leaders was their second in a row, sixth in the past ten games and 40th on the road where they still remain positive with 41 wins.
