A 22 year old of Miss Ecuador, María Fernanda Cornejo was crowned the Miss International 2011 during a pageant held on November 6 at the Sichuan Opera Theatre in Chengdu, China. She was crowned by Elizabeth Mosquera, Miss International 2010.
Fernanda Cornejo is Ecuador’s first win of a Grand Slam pageant beauty crown. The 1st run-up was Miss Venezuela, Jessica Barboza. 2nd run-up place went to Miss Mongolia, Tugsuu Idersaikhan. The 3rd run-up was Miss Puerto Rico. And finally, the 4th run-up position went to Miss Panama, Keity Mendieta.
