Indians turn .500 after Twins win
Twins were the first to take the lead in the opening round through Revere and Plouffe who gave their side a two point quick advantage. Parmelee singled to center, allowing the two come up with a double. Indians broke back in the same inning through Fukudome, who cut the deficit to one point after Thome doubled to left.
The hosts evened the situation in the second round when La Porta doubled to center permitting Chisenhall to resuscitate his side. Arizona Diamondbacks 3 – 1 San Francisco Giants
Arizona overcame Giants yesterday at the Chase Field where the leaders clinched a hard fought late win against their main followers in the West. Cabrera scored the first point of the game in the fifth term after hitting a 395 foot homerun.
Arizona broke back in the seventh through Goldschmidt who leveled the score after Young doubled to center. Finally, Roberts and Upton brought a couple of more points with two terms remaining, giving their side the 48th home win of the season.
Arizona, who have already won the title have improved their record to .580 including 91 wins and 66 defeats. The victory over Giants was their second in a row, sixth in the past ten games and 48th at home. On the other side, San Francisco are seven gamesback behind the leaders with .535 record which features 84 wins and 73 losses. The defeat to Arizona was their second in a row, third in the past ten games and 39th on the road where they still remain positive thanks to 40 wins.
Los Angeles Angels 1 – 3 Oakland Athletics
Oakland captured their second straight win after defeating Angels yesterday at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
