Nasri in for City medical

Arsenal, City Agree Terms On Nasri Transfer
Nasri in for City medical
Samir Nasri is in Manchester for City medical, according to Arsenal who have confirmed the deal on the French midfielder has been agreed. The 24 year old is thus likely to become the third big name to sign Roberto Mancini’s side after Sergio Aguero and Gael Clichy.
Nasri parts with Arsenal after three unsuccessful years. The French has been expecting for this move since last year as the lack of trophies had made the French consider his move from the Emirates. He is now to join his former team mate Gael Clichy who also parted with the Gunners two months ago from the same reason.
Including Cesc Fabregas’ departure to FC Barcelona, Arsene Wenger’s days at the Emirates might be number taking into account that three cornerstones were allowed to take off from London. “We’ve lost two great players and that’s the sad side of the story but at some stage it has to be over because you have to focus on the future,” said the French manager who still wanted Nasri at the team.
Wenger revealed that Nasri was not part of his plans for the Udinese clash in the second term of the UEFA Champions League play-off. According to reports, Nasri is to cost Manchester City more than $40 million, Roberto Mancini being ready to give the midfielder a long term deal. Nasri is thus likely to play alongside Milner, David Silva and Toure Yaya in the middle.
Arsenal have only brought Gervinho, but the Gunners need more experienced players to confirm the next season. Van Perise, Arshavin and Gervinho are the only key players left to help Wenger break through in the next season, but their chances to shine still remain small. Nasri scored 18 goals for the Gunners and gathered 86 selections.
Sergio Aguero had a great start at City, scoring two goals only in the first game, while David Silva has proved his efficiency very many times. The Spaniard, who plays on the same position as Nasri, scored a crucial goal in City’s 3-2 win to Bolton Wanderers this weekend. This might force the Frenchman fight for his place pretty hard.
City are top of the standings with six points in two games, sharing the top spot with arch rivals United and Wolverhamtpon Wanderers. Arsenal lie 14th with one point in two games. The Gunners were held 0-0 by Newcastle United in the first day and were also beaten 0-2 by Liverpool in the second day, something which led to speculations Wenger’s days are numbered at the Emirates.
