Everybody knows what is going to be unveiled on October 4th during Apple’s event, and that is the next generation iPhone. Truth be told though, this isn’t anything magical, being that we know the inevitable already – however Apple may very well be planning a dual iPhone release, with media analysts stating an iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 may very well be on the cards. Pretty interesting, huh?. This strategy could very well be the birth of new growth for Apple if a dual-release does become a reality, because Apple will finally attract serious attention from mid-range customers who want a premium splash on their annual or 18 month mobile contract upgrades.
According to one senior analyst at the Deutsche Bank, he thinks that Apple’s possible dual-release iPhone strategy will ignite mass interest from people internationally, and be a true combat against the rising popularity of Google’s Android operating system. I agree with him.
The iPhone 4S if released beside the iPhone 5 would be almost probably an updated version of the iPhone 4, or even a higher end iPod touch like device. As for storage, we reckon’ the iPhone 4S would ship with 8GB of storage to allow Apple to competitively price the handset, and as for build materials we think that unibody will be on the cards for the iPhone 4S given Apple has mastered the production process of this premium material.
Undoubtedly, the main attraction within the Obotober 4th Apple event is the iPhone 5, and as for what the features will be in this handset, check out a post we wrote a while back surrounding possible features and also news coverage of whether the iPhone 5 will be SIM Card-less.
