Clash in Cairo

Seven People Hurt In Egyptian Sectarian Clash
Clash in Cairo
Clashes between Christian Copt and Muslims in Cairo broke again on Thursday as a group of Christians marched through a suburb in the capital toward the iconic Tahrir Square, where they intended to protest against what they called discrimination. At least seven people were injured in the suburb of Shoubra.
The locals in the neighborhood of Bulak attacked the Christian and threw rocks at them, forcing them to disperse. A priest called the people to go home, saying that they were not going to progress any further because the police had sealed off the zone that leads to Tahrir Square.
Young people said they would gather again in Maspero area, near the state television, a place where on October 9 Christian protesters clashed with the army in the bloodiest sectarian clash in Egypt, leaving 40 people dead and thousands of wounded, the highest death toll since the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, the former president of Egypt.
Christians in Egypt make ten percent of the 80-million population of Egypt, and have complained often that they are being oppressed in the country, as they are not allowed to build churches, the verdicts in the courts favor Muslims, and the influence of the Islamists grows after the topple of the former president.
