the greatest gangsters and mobs of China

"LandepNews"
In the 20′s, Moganshan was the hideout of the greatest gangsters and mobs of China, like “Big-Eared Du”, one of the greatest leaders of the opium trade. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, which took place between 1937 and 1945, Moganshan became more important as the Japanese occupied Shanghai, not far from there. Today, the burgeoning bourgeoisie of the city of Shanghai has found its playground and retreat area in Moganshan. Tourists, of course, are not far behind.
Located a convenient two and a half hour drive west from Shanghai, Moganshan is a region dominated by mountains of bamboo. This mystical region of rolling hills interspersed with lush forests, is dotted by particularly picturesque buildings: mainly stone houses dating from the turn of the century and farms where the geese used to hide during the robberies in war times.
Several of these colonial-style structures have been converted into elegant resorts. Other more modern hotels have been constructed from environmentally friendly materials. For example, the Naked Stables, which is the first resort in Asia to receive a LEED certification (for its acronym meaning: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), resulted from an investment of $ 31 million and two years of careful ecological construction.
Motor vehicles are not allowed to enter the secluded valley reserve, which is probably a reason why the owners of the different resorts have managed to preserve a striking environment. Moganshan is one of the most interesting places to spend the weekend on the outskirts of Shanghai. This is a place to if you are looking for a Chinese retreat with real style. Are you interested in taking a trip to Moganshan? Do not miss our next blog entry with additional information about your trip to Moganshan.
Moganshan is everything you need for a weekend break in China, away from the noise and stress that can affect you, even as a tourist, in the great city of Shanghai.
