Bono to perform for Bill Clinton
Both U2 leader Bono and Lady Gaga are expected to perform for Bill Clinton’s Concert who is to celebrate a decade of humanitarian work this weekend.
The former US President will also celebrate his 65th birthday, though he was born on August 19, according to reports who also confirmed that the big event, which starts today, will also feature big names such as Jessica Alba, Mira Sorvino, Zach Braff, Sugar Ray Leonard, Felicity Huffman, Maria Bello, Petra Nemcova.
‘A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation’ will also gather famous artists like Bono, Usher, Juanes, Kenny Chesney and Lady Gaga who are expected to perform several songs with this occasion.
U2 vocal leader Bono is well known for his many charity projects as well as for organizing plenty of music festivals meant to help the poor across the world. The 51 year old singer was part of a philanthropically project in Ethiopia, action which aimed to feature every hospital and health clinic with internet connectivity.
As for Bill Clinton’s foundations, it has already organized thousands of humanitarian works. The foundation is believed to have improved more than 300 million lives. There are also involved in economic development projects, having helped more than four thousands African farmers already.
Said Bill Clinton: “I am deeply grateful that the artists associated with the concert are giving their time and talent to raise awareness about the work of my foundation. In the past decade, commitments to my Clinton Global Initiative have improved the lives of more than 300 million people around the world.”
Also, president’s foundation has helped nearly four million people who are infected with HIV/AIDS and who are now receiving the proper medication. More than 10,000 schools across United States have also benefited from Bill Clinton’s charity projects.
