BBC's Strictly Come Dancing

BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, featuring singer Lulu (left) has overtaken ITV's X Factor, featuring Frankie Cocozza (right) in the ratings.
BRITAIN has decided that it has had enough of people singing badly, and would much prefer to spend its Saturday evenings watching subpar dancing instead.
The news comes after BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing overtook its rival the X factor in the ratings war for the first time in over three years.
The hit ITV singing competition has been rocked by a series of major setbacks this year, including contestant Goldie Cheung dropping out from the live finals, that girl group who you can’t remember having to change their original name that you couldn’t remember to a new name you’re not going to remember, and the fact that all of the contestants are awful.
The show suffered a further embarrassment at the weekend when judge RuPaul pulled out of the show at the last-minute claiming she was too ill to appear, forcing producers to call in former winner Alexandra Burke as a stand-in.
Strictly Come Dancing meanwhile has gone from strength to strength this year buoyed by a stellar celebrity line-up including Grammy-winning Australian singer Holly Valance, and national treasure Lulu. A BBC spokesperson said: “We are absolutely delighted by the viewing figures and delighted that more and more people are tuning in each week to watch the bunch of C-list celebrities we’ve cobbled together doing some shoddy dancing.”
Avid television viewer Sally Anderson from Hull said: ”It’s hard to say who I despise more – Lulu or Frankie Cocozza.
“But at least on Strictly there is the possibility of Lulu breaking her neck in a misjudged lift.”
